I'm using acrylics on very thin paper....photocopy paper...that's what I'm showing in the video. But I also use heavy archival paper sometimes. Gluing the heavy paper is similar to gluing the thinner paper, but as an additional step I put heavy books on it overnight. 'Gouache' paint is spelled this way...:) I use it sometimes too....mostly in my little magnet images. Happy retirement....you must be very exited! Enjoy your time! :)
Great post, covered so much “territory”- no pun or something because your landscape and love of the land always show through in your work- whether painting or collage. Thank you and also wonderful practical tips. Highly entertaining as well! Made my day!
I totally agree with your points about the benefits and freedom that comes with collage. A chance to play and practice other elements design other than representation. Love it.
Thank you for sharing! I love doing collage, it’s anything but mindless and there are so many takeaways. I like your stash of papers too, no intervention necessary!
I'll never complain again about not having an art studio or proper workspace after seeing this chair seat "studio"
I’m curious about the paper you are using and the paint.
Do you use just acrylic or do you also use guache? And is that how to spell guache????
Two days out from the retirement, at am looking at your substack and videos and loving it. Starting to feel hopeful.
To clarify, what is the type and the weight of the paper?
