That was such a good read, I felt I was there with you look out on the woods. I'm actually about to go on a hike so this is the motivation I needed to go paint outside and just capture the moment. Thank you for sharing your thoughts and experiences. I look forward to your next news letter.
Harry, Stan here. Stan Josselyn on instagram. Just today I discovered your Substack. Follow you on instagram. (For a whole week now!) I also sketch in my car often. Nearly every day using gouache. I noticed that you have paint in a Tupperware tray. Is that correct? Seems a great idea.
Beautiful!!! So beautiful!!!! So nice to see your process! I’m a writer and my husband’s a painter. We’re sharing paintings and poems—dispatches from our search for the sublime. :) so glad to be connected!
Thanks for sharing this insight! I’ve just started to draw again more, and I notice me getting very worked up with my perfectionism. So this insight is helping tremendously!
Thanks for sharing your process. I love to draw! It’s great to see others who appreciate drawing.

I loved reading this, Harry. I think I need to take my sketchbook for a drive!

Hi Stan. Yes, that is Tupperware and I use that for my small acrylic paintings. My last substack mailing is on that topic….how I’m using that palette.

So helpful to read this. Thank you!
Thank you, Karin!
I really do need to go do some plein aire, and not get stuck in the details!
I don't do details...I do some big stuff, some middle sized stuff, and some small stuff... :)
Thanks, Jen!....remember to take your favorite beverage too... :)
Thank you, Pat! I started as someone who drew more than painted...so that will never stop. :)
